Coronavirus update

‘The mind-set is refreshing; the value base is all about the children’

(Ofsted report 2016)

The Coronavirus pandemic is causing widespread disruption throughout the country, and the world. Many of us are self-isolating, working from home, or supporting others who might be doing so.

With this comes uncertainty, both for today and the near-future. While we don’t know what the coming weeks and months will bring, we can reassure you that we’re here for you. The situation is constantly changing, but here’s our status as of 1st May 2020.

If you’re thinking about fostering

The need for new Foster Carers is greater than ever to take care of the 60,000 children who are looked after in the UK. Lighthouse Fostering is an Independent Fostering Service, our teams is a cohesive group of care professionals of a very high standard and experience. This means we’re well prepared to adapt to changing conditions, following government advice. We’ve taken these steps to ensure we can continue to support your journey:

  • Our expert team is working remotely and in safe environments taking calls meaning they are still on hand to answer any questions and queries you may have over the phone
  • We can meet you ‘virtually’ through video chat too if you prefer and an initial assessment can be completed through this platform
  • We have a wealth of information that we can email to you. We welcome applications from people who are new to foster care, as well as experienced foster carers. If you’d like more information, or you’re ready to chat to us about the next steps, enquire today or call 02277 250096

If you’ve already enquired to become a foster carer with Lighthouse Fostering
