If you’re thinking about becoming foster Carer

The need for new Foster Carers is greater than ever to take care of the 60,000 children who are looked after in the UK. Lighthouse Fostering is an Independent Fostering Service, our teams is a cohesive group of care professionals of a very high standard and experience. This means we’re well prepared to adapt to changing conditions, following government advice. We’ve taken these steps to ensure we can continue to support your journey: 

  • Our expert team are back in the office in a safe environment taking calls, meaning they are still on hand to answer any questions and queries you may have over the phone.
  • We can now meet you both‘virtually’ through video chat or face to face at your home if you prefer and an initial assessment can be completed through both ways.

We know this has at times been challenging for you and your family over this pandemic . We are always here to ensure we can continue to support you: 

  • We’will continue emailed and posted you information and will continue to do so as the situation changes 

  • We continue to offer 24/7 support to you and your fostering family and we are enjoying coming out to see you on home visits.
  • Online training courses continue to be available to you to support you. Plus now selected face to face training  is being introduced as we safely navigate through this journey out of this COVID.  If you have any concerns please contact your Supervising Social Worker or Jacqui Nicholls, Registered Manager.
