There is no greater joy for us at Lighthouse Fostering than seeing our family grow. Every time we welcome new foster carers into our fold, we know it means another safe, loving home is available for a child who needs it. Today, we are absolutely thrilled to introduce you to our newest approved carers, Jason and Caroline!
Embarking on a fostering journey is a significant life decision. It takes compassion, dedication, and a willingness to open your heart and home. Jason and Caroline have demonstrated all these qualities in abundance, and we are delighted to officially welcome them to the team.
A Warm Welcome from Rye
Jason and Caroline join us from the beautiful town of Rye in East Sussex. They are not embarking on this adventure alone; they are supported by their own two boys, making this a true family effort.
Of course, no introduction to this wonderful household would be complete without mentioning the four-legged members of the family. Basil and Amaya, their two dogs, are ready to play their part too. Pets can be incredibly therapeutic for children in care, offering unconditional love and a comforting presence. We are sure Basil and Amaya will be excellent companions as the family grows.
Jumping Straight In
We are excited to share that Jason and Caroline have hit the ground running. They have already begun their fostering journey by welcoming a young child into their family.
The first placement is always a momentous occasion. It is the point where all the training and preparation turn into reality. By opening their door to this young child, Jason and Caroline are already making a tangible, positive difference. They are providing stability and care at a time when it is needed most.
Seeing our new foster carers settle into their roles so naturally is incredibly rewarding. It reminds us why we do what we do. We are so proud of how they have handled this transition and the warmth they have shown from day one.
Creating Happy Memories
Fostering is about more than just providing a roof over a child's head. It is about creating memories, sharing experiences, and building a sense of belonging. Jason and Caroline have some wonderful plans to do just that.
Living in such a picturesque part of East Sussex, they are looking forward to sharing simple but meaningful family experiences. They have told us how much they enjoy their Sunday walks, whether it is rambling through local fields, exploring the woods, or taking a trip to the nearby beach.
These might sound like small things, but for a child in foster care, these consistent, positive family rituals are invaluable. A walk on the beach or a wander through the woods provides space to talk, play, and just be a child. We can’t wait to hear all about their adventures with the dogs in tow!
Supported Every Step of the Way
While Jason and Caroline are the ones doing the day-to-day caring, they are never alone. At Lighthouse Fostering, we believe that the best way to support children is to support our carers.
As they embark on this incredible journey, Jason and Caroline have the full backing of our dedicated team. From our social workers to our therapeutic leads, we are here to provide guidance, training, and a listening ear whenever it is needed.
Joining our fostering community means joining a network of people who understand the unique joys and challenges of fostering. We are committed to ensuring that Jason, Caroline, and their own children feel valued and supported as they navigate this new chapter of their lives.
Could You Join Our Family?
We are so excited to support Jason and Caroline as they continue to make a wonderful difference in the life of the young child they are caring for. Their story shows that foster carers come from all walks of life, bringing their own unique families and interests to the role.
If you have been thinking about fostering, perhaps Jason and Caroline’s story will inspire you to take the next step. Whether you have children of your own or not, whether you have pets or not, you could have exactly what a child needs.
We wish Jason, Caroline, their boys, and of course Basil and Amaya, all the very best. Welcome to the team!
