Self-Care Support Group for Foster Carers

The festive season, while full of joy and magic, can also bring added pressures for any family. For fostering households, this can be amplified. Managing complex emotions, navigating contact arrangements, and creating a positive experience for everyone requires careful planning and emotional strength. Recognising this, we recently hosted a pre-Christmas holiday self-care support group, specifically designed to equip our carers for the demands and joys of the Christmas holidays.

Our pre-Christmas self-care support group was a wonderful success. The session was expertly led by our experienced therapist, Bridget Hamlet, in partnership with one of our dedicated Supervising Social Workers. This combination of therapeutic insight and practical fostering knowledge created a rich, supportive, and highly relevant experience for everyone who attended.

The session was designed to be interactive and reflective. It was an opportunity for carers to step away from their daily responsibilities and focus entirely on their own needs.
