At Lighthouse Fostering, our team is what makes us truly special. It’s their passion, expertise, and dedication that drive everything we do. Today, we’re delighted to introduce you to one of our incredible team members, Jane Blagden, our Family Matching & Social Work Assistant.
Jane joined Lighthouse Fostering in June 2021, and since then, she has become an essential part of our team. Her role is as varied as it is meaningful. From coordinating training sessions and arranging placements to supporting social work and leading in education, Jane works tirelessly to make a difference. Her ultimate passion lies in helping children and young people achieve their aspirations and enjoy the same educational opportunities as their peers.
A Wealth of Experience
Jane’s career has been nothing short of remarkable. Before joining Lighthouse Fostering, she gained extensive experience in roles that showcased her dedication to helping others.
She began her career as a Finance Assistant at a Magistrates’ Court but soon found her calling in supporting children and families. For 13 years, Jane worked with the Children & Families Team at the Local Authority, where she made a positive impact on countless lives. She also cared for young people in a residential home and worked with both Independent Fostering Agencies and SEN teams.
Jane’s work securing school placements and writing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) reflects her commitment to ensuring that every young person has access to the support and opportunities they deserve.

A Fun Fact About Jane
Here’s something you might not know about Jane … she used to teach wedding dances to couples preparing for their big day! From waltzes to energetic routines, Jane helped couples shine on the dancefloor. 💃 What a fantastic way to combine creativity and fun!
