North Kent is where Lighthouse Fostering calls home. Our head office at Quayside House on Standard Quay in Faversham puts our team within easy reach of foster carers across Swale, Gravesham and Dartford, from Sittingbourne and the Isle of Sheppey to Gravesend, Northfleet and Greenhithe.
Being this close makes a real difference. You can pop into the office, get to know our staff by name, and join support groups and training sessions without a long drive. When you need advice, you'll speak to people who know you, your family and the children in your care. Children in North Kent need foster families who can keep them close to their schools, friends and the places they know. Whether you can offer a home to a teenager, a sibling group, a parent and baby, or a child who needs care for a few weeks, you could change the direction of a young person's life.
Lighthouse is an independent agency, started by foster carers and care leavers, and every carer is offered our 12-week therapeutic parenting course. Where is your North Kent office?
Our head office is at Quayside House, Standard Quay, Faversham, ME13 7BS. It's our main base for Kent, so carers in Faversham, Sittingbourne and the surrounding villages are just a short drive away, and we regularly visit carers across Sheppey, Gravesend and Dartford.
Do you cover the Isle of Sheppey?
Yes. We welcome foster carers from across the Isle of Sheppey, including Sheerness, Minster, Queenborough and Eastchurch. Your supervising social worker will visit you at home, and training and support groups are held locally.
I already foster for Kent County Council. Can I move to Lighthouse?
Yes. Many approved carers transfer to Lighthouse for our local, personal support. We'll work with your current service to make the move smooth for you and any children living with you. Find out about transferring.
Local support from our Faversham head office
Every Lighthouse foster carer has a dedicated supervising social worker, and our North Kent carers have the advantage of our head office on their doorstep. Our social workers each have more than twenty years of experience, and you'll also have access to therapists, education and placement specialists.
You'll receive 20 days of paid respite a year, regular support groups with other local carers, and social events for the whole family throughout the year.

Swale is our home patch. We're looking for foster carers in Faversham, Sittingbourne, Sheerness, Minster, Queenborough and the villages in between. Carers here can reach our office in minutes, which makes it easy to drop in for training, a support group or a catch-up with the team.
Fostering in Gravesend and Gravesham
On the south bank of the Thames, Gravesend, Northfleet and the surrounding villages such as Meopham are home to many children who need a stable, caring family. We support foster carers across Gravesham with regular home visits and training close to where you live.
Fostering in Dartford, Greenhithe and Swanscombe
